To fix that, you can go to Settings > Do Not Disturb, and turn off Do Not Disturb by making sure both Manual and Scheduled sliders are dis-enabled. And your iPhone ringtone will certainly be muted.
If you have turned on Do Not Disturb, all incoming notifications, calls, messages and alerts will be silenced.
